Dort liegt auch der weithin sichtbare Monte Vulture, ein seit langem erloschener Vulkan. Die sehr alte Rebsorte Aglianico bevorzugt vulkanische Bden. Sie liefert rubinrote und gehaltvolle Weine, die sich durch intensive Tannine und eine krftige Sure auszeichnen. In der Nase komplex und wrzig mit Aromen von roten Frchten sowie schwarzen Kirschen und reifen Pflaumen. Am Gaumen
