Vintage 19th Century Mahogany Campaign Box Japan An unusual oyster plate designAn English mahogany campaign box from the 1860s, brass bound to endure the rigors of sea travel. Once belonging to a British military officer, the deep velvet lined interior was designed to cradle a delicate navigational clock aboard long voyages. A study in precision and restraint, carrying the romance of maritime exploration and the disciplined elegance of the campaign tradition.
